Sunday saw the Brewers take on Bristols new team the Bucs in what turned out to be one hell of a game, The Bucs ended up eventual winners 25-22 after 10 innings. The Brewers started with Pitcher Charlie Capener who gave up 10 runs in the first with two out before being pulled for Julio Perez who took over the duties till the 8th inning when Charlie came back in and got them out of it and threw a scoreless 9th to give them the chance to walk it off, with 2 outs and a runner on third Brewers centre fielder hit a hard ground ball to the side of the shortstop and for all the world looked like it was the winning hit but what a play he made, picked the ball bare hand and made the throw to first with the runner just a couple steps away. Brewers very own left fielder Nick Burt also made a play of the day with a perfect throw from the left outfield to John Hendry at home to tag out the runner going for the plate. The Brewers offence was led by Jono Penny and Charlie Capener both bringing 5 rbi's each to the team, Ian Durrant scored 5 runs and John Hendry walked 5 times, the Brewers can hold their heads high after an amazing performance in this game and will no doubt be looking to end the season with a win against the Exeter Spitfires at their home ground. Till then the Brewers will be training hard to try and get the win, don't forget to keep swinging, fielding, throwing and running and to join us next time for more Brewers Baseball.
