Brewers game vs Cutters cut short due to rain

The Newton Brewers played their home fixture vs the Cutters today which was called game after just 5 and 2/3 innings. the Cutters won the game 24-5 at the end of this. the umpires for the day were Kevin Brown who came up with the Cutters and field umpired and Rich Brown who came down from barnstaple to Umpire the game, the game wouldnt have gone ahead without them so a big thank you to them. Matt Vernel started the game on the mound with julio coming in during the third inning and seeing the game out till the end, The return oh Nick Burt was a welcome to the team as he picked up where he left off of hitting 1.000 after his at bats, Jono penny had another good game with some crucial hits. The brewers first baseman did well on stopping any passed balls with the rest of the guy playing their part, the Cutters pitcher pitched the whole game for them and only seemed to get better as the game went on, unfortunately the game was called early due to rain and hail so there were not more key events to pick out and write about, the Brewers continue their campaign next week against a very strong Yeovil Whirlwinds team. till then keep swinging, fielding, throwing and running and make sure you join us next time for more Brewers Baseball.
