Another brilliant day of sunday baseball from the Newton Abbot Brewers who faced a well oiled Exeter Spitfires team. The spitfires played a good game and a great day was had by all but at the end the Brewers were up on the scoreboard 14 runs to 1. Every Brewers player gave their everything and left everything out on the field, managing to shut out the Spitfires for the first 5 innings of the game before giving up one run in the 6th and keeping them to zero in the 7th to see out the game, special mentions today go to Max Ellis for his pitching, Coach Julio Perez who was a driving force in the Brewers defensive game, Jono Penny who brought out the wood and hit a double and Triple whilst bringing in 4 runs and also the Brewers First Baseman Charlie Capener who had a great game with no missed balls and a few pick ups out of the dirt. The sun was shining down today and the Brewers could not be faulted, they showed today the passion and heart as a team they have and their support to each other and bond as a unit. The Brewers are a team not to be messed with and they will be carrying on their momentum into their home game next week to Plymouth Mariners where they hope to make it 2-1 on their seasons record, will be a tough game but with the fight they have anything is achievable. Till the next match report keeping swinging, fielding, throwing and running and most importnaly dont forget to join us next time for more Brewers Baseball.
